Medical Chemistry Theoretical Course For Students

"This book is intended to provide knowledge in theoretical chemistry appropriate for the specific requirements of the first-year medical students. It includes theoretical units in different fields of inorganic, physical and organic chemistry, which are of particular interest and importance for their medical education.

The choice of the topics, and the order in which they appear in the textbook, are based on the exam program and on the long author's experience in teaching medical chemistry in the "Department of Medical Chemistry and Biochemisty" in "Medical University of Sofia".

The second edition of the book is extended with a topic covering mechanism, classification, chemical notation and kinetics of organic reactions. A special theme for isomerism and stereochemistry, focused on the relationship between molecular structure and biological activity of the organic compounds, is also included.

We hope that textbook will become an essential tool for the needs of undergraduate human and dental medical students."
